On-page SEO for the pages where revenue lives

On-page SEO is everything on the page you control: content matched to search intent, heading and title structure, internal links, schema markup and copy structured to be quoted. I audit all of it, then work page by page through the shortlist that actually moves money - built once, for Google's rankings and AI engines' citations both.

What does on-page SEO include?

The layer between technical SEO and content strategy. Technical SEO makes pages reachable; content strategy decides what pages should exist; on-page SEO makes each page the best possible answer for the query it targets. Concretely: intent match, heading hierarchy, titles and metas that earn the click, internal links in and out, schema that validates, and copy whose first paragraph answers the question instead of warming up to it.

Since AI engines started quoting pages instead of just ranking them, this layer earns twice. The structural habits that win featured snippets - direct answers, question-formatted headings, clean entities - are the same ones that get you cited in ChatGPT and Perplexity answers.

How an on-page engagement works

01

Site-wide audit with a prioritised shortlist

I audit every page, but the deliverable focuses on the pages where on-page improvements will actually move traffic and revenue - typically 10 to 30 pages, ranked by opportunity.

02

Per-page briefs or direct rewrites

Each priority page gets a precise brief - target intent, structure, headings, entities to name, internal links to add - that your writers execute, or I restructure the pages myself where no content team exists.

03

Internal linking

Internal links determine how authority flows through the site and how search engines understand each page. I map the existing structure, identify priority pages with too few internal links, find orphan pages, and fix link placement and anchor text.

04

Schema and AI-answer optimisation

Structured data that validates (you can check yours with my Schema Markup Checker) and content formatted so AI engines can quote it accurately - the same on-page work that supports AEO.

Where the boundaries are

If your pages can't be crawled or rendered, on-page work is wasted - that's a technical SEO problem and it comes first. If the pages targeting your money queries don't exist at all, that's strategy. The free audit tells you which of the three you actually need - it's the same triage I run on every site.

FAQ

Questions clients ask about on-page work

What does on-page SEO actually include?

Everything on the page you control: how the content matches search intent, heading structure, titles and meta descriptions, internal links in and out, schema markup, image optimisation and how directly the copy answers the query. It sits between technical SEO (can machines reach the page) and content strategy (should this page exist at all).

Do you rewrite our content or just give recommendations?

Both modes exist. For most clients I deliver per-page briefs precise enough that your writers can execute: target intent, structure, headings, entities to name, links to add. Where there's no content team, I restructure priority pages myself - your subject-matter knowledge, my structure.

How is on-page SEO different from AEO?

AEO is on-page SEO's newest audience. The same structural work - direct answers up top, question-formatted headings, clean entities, valid schema - serves both Google's ranking systems and the AI engines choosing what to quote. I build pages once, for both.

How many pages does an engagement cover?

Fewer than you'd expect, deliberately. On most sites, ten to thirty pages bring in the majority of organic traffic and revenue. I audit everything, then work page by page through the shortlist where improvements actually pay off - rather than spreading effort evenly across pages that rarely get searched.

Do you handle internal linking?

Yes - internal links determine how authority flows through a site and how search engines understand each page. I map the existing structure, identify priority pages with too few internal links, find orphan pages, and fix link placement and anchor text.
